As human beings we find it easy to blame the entire world for why we are unhappy, but ourselves. I am in a dead end job, I can’t find a boyfriend, I am unhappy in my relationship, I can’t seem to loose weight and the list goes on. However, how often do we really do anything about the things we complain about? We want things to change yet we are petrified of changing them. Take a look at some of reasons YOU self -sabotage your own growth.
You always feel bad for yourself– Victimizing yourself will get you nowhere. Yes, it is sad that you are in a certain situation but it is always and only up to you, to get out of it. Feeling bad for yourself only allows your mind to bully your heart. If you are in this situation you need to look up positive affirmations. Whether, you listen to them on YouTube or repeat them to yourself on a daily basis, this will bring the positivity back to your mind and heart thus allowing you to face any situation. Your thoughts and what you say about yourself is very powerful. Remember negativity outweighs positivity. So, you need to make sure that you are staying positive.
You need to control everything– Guess what? You can’t. That’s the beauty about life. You never know what is going to happen next and although that can bring on a lot of anxiety for people, the sooner you accept this the better it is for YOU. My mother once said to me “ The only constant in life, is change”. And, if that is true, then you are going to have to find a way to be okay with that. Otherwise, you will never happy. Super high expectations– Some people set super high expectations. It is good to have high standards but having super high expectations is like you telling the universe that it owes you something. It doesn’t. It tries to offer you things that are meant for you and ways to be happy. It is up to you to notice the things that make your life better. If you live in an idealistic box that is only created in your mind, you will miss a chance at true happiness. Think about it! There is a reason they say, “think outside the box” right?
Stop doubting everything! – Sometimes we can’t be happy with our lives because we doubt everyone and everything in it. Sometimes you just need to sit back and have a good time instead of presuming that the ball with bad news is going to drop. Let yourself have fun and do not live in constant worry that things around you aren’t real. Some people do this as a self defense mechanism. They don’t want to believe in anyone so that if they get let down, they don’t get hurt. Getting hurt is part of life. And, so is getting up!
Don’t be the reason you are unhappy in your life. If you want to change something YOU CAN. You are in charge of you own happiness. True happiness is found in those little moments where you allowed yourself to laugh your heart out and did not worry about tomorrow or your problems.
